Today is the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation

Loving and Merciful Creator,

On this solemn day, as autumn leaves fall across the prairies of Saskatchewan, we pause to listen and remember. We life up to You all Indigenous Peoples, especially the survivors of the residential school system, and the families whose children never returned home.

We offer You our contrition for the pain and suffering inflicted, and for the generational trauma that still impacts communities today. Forgive our past failings, our arrogance, and our indifference.

Lord of all truth, give us the courage to face our shared history with honesty, and the humility to listen to the stories of our Indigenous brothers and sisters with open hearts. Heal the deep wounds of body, mind, and spirit.

Guide us forward, Creator, to walk together on a good path of healing, respect, and reconciliation. May Your Holy Spirit bind us together in love and unity, so that we may honour the dignity of every person in our province and across our nation.

We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
