Creator, we come together today across the beautiful, wide lands of Saskatchewan, standing in the light of your love and acknowledging the history we share.

We pause to remember the children who were taken from their families and communities and forced into residential schools. We pray for the Survivors who are still healing from deep wounds, and we honour the spirits of all those who never returned home.

As students, teachers, and staff, we wear our orange shirts today as a promise to listen, learn, and remember. Open our minds to the truths of the past, even when they are difficult to hear. Grant us the courage to understand our shared history and to celebrate the rich cultures, languages, and resilience of Indigenous peoples.

Guide our hands, our words, and our classrooms. Help us to build a foundation of respect, kindness, and empathy so that every child truly feels that they matter. May this day be more than just a memory, but a meaningful step on our journey to walk together in a spirit of true reconciliation.

Help us, God, to carry these lessons in our hearts every day.
