Most of us have prayed the Lord's Prayer many times. Do you know what the words mean in that prayer? Here is a simple version for us to listen to today:

God, our loving Father,
You are in heaven, and we honour your holy name.
We want everyone to know how great and wonderful you are.
Please help us do what you want,
here on earth just like the angels do in heaven.
Thank you for giving us the food and things we need today.
Please forgive us when we make mistakes or do bad things,
just like we forgive others who hurt our feelings.
Keep us safe from making bad choices,
and rescue us from the things that are wrong.
We know that you are the King!
You are all-powerful, and you deserve all the praise forever.

Please join me in praying the beautiful Lord's Prayer that Jesus taught us to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.
