Daily Prayer - November 4
This past weekend was the Feast of All Souls Day.
Throughout the month of November, Christians pray for all those who are no longer with us and now living with God in the Kingdom of Heaven.
I’m sure many of you here today have experienced the death of a loved one. Maybe it was a family member, a grandparent or a good friend.
The death of a loved one can be a very difficult experience for us. We feel sad and lonely and sometimes may feel like it just isn’t fair that our loved one died.
Our Catholic faith tells us that we are on a journey. Our journey here on earth means we are working hard each day to be the best person we can be.
Kind and loving to all people; making God a priority in our lives.
And so, even though it is normal to feel sad and lonely when we think of our loved ones who are not with us anymore, we remember that this isn’t the end of the story….it is just “until we meet again” in heaven!
Right now, I want you to take a moment to think about the people who you know have died. Let us remember the joy, laughter, and fun times we shared together.
May our Lord God’s everlasting light shine upon them and may they rest in peace.
St. Michael…. Pray for us.
St. Gabriel…. Pray for us.
St. Raphael…. Pray for us.
All holy men and women…. Pray for us.
We make our prayers in Jesus’ name.
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen
