Daily Prayer - May 5
Today is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women.
Let us pray: In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen
Healing Creator, we come to You with heavy hearts and fierce love,
Calling out the names that have been taken,
Even when the world tries to forget.
We remember. We carry them.
Wrap Your arms around our sisters, daughters, mothers, aunties, and cousins—
Those who walk in the Spirit World,
And those still searching for home.
Let their spirits find peace and let their stories rise like smoke
To remind us that they mattered. That they still matter.
Give strength to the families who grieve with no answers,
Who fight every day for justice,
Who light the fires, hang the red dresses, and speak the names aloud.
Let them know they are not alone.
Creator of all Justice,
Bring accountability to the systems that have failed us.
Let the winds carry truth into every courtroom, every government, every heart.
Let healing take root in the places where silence has reigned too long.
And let our communities be shielded—
Protected by ancestors, by land, by love.
We honor the sacredness of every Indigenous life.
We commit to remembering. We commit to fighting.
We commit to healing. May we rise together,
Rooted in love, driven by justice,
And guided always by the spirits of those we’ve lost. Amen.
