Daily Prayer - March 2
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
March is National Nutrition Month.
This is recognized throughout Canada to draw attention to the importance of making good food choices and developing healthy eating habits.
Food is nourishment, but it’s so much more. Food brings people together at the kitchen table and is the center of many celebrations.
Eating a wide variety of healthy foods provides the nutrients we need to feel good, and gives us the energy to learn, work and play.
Today, we give thanks for the food we have. We pray for those around the world, and right here in Regina, who don’t have enough food.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of today. Thank you for the food we have and the good conversations we have with family and friends while we are eating.
We remember that not all people have enough food and many die every day of starvation. Help us, Lord, to appreciate the food we have, and to not waste it. Open our minds to learning more about healthy eating and making good food choices.
During the holy season of Lent, may we share what we have with others in need. May we talk to our families about supporting our local Food Bank, the Marian Center, Souls Harbor, and Carmichael Outreach in ways that will help others, which is exactly what Jesus wants us to do.
We make all our prayers in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
