In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

Laughter is good medicine for our soul. Today, we start our Friday together with a short story that will hopefully make you laugh.

Daniel had just gotten his driver’s license. Shortly after this big event, Daniel asked his father if they could talk about him using the family car.

His father said to him, "I'll make a deal with you son. You bring your grades up, say your prayers at night before bed and get your hair cut, then we’ll talk about it."

A month later, Daniel asked his dad a second time if they could talk about him being allowed to pick his friends up with his parents’ car. His dad said, "Son, I'm real proud of you. You have brought your grades up, I’ve heard you praying at night and coming to church with your mom and I, but you didn't get your hair cut!"

Daniel waited a moment and replied, "You know Dad, I've been thinking about that. Did you know that Moses had long hair, Noah had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair." His father replied, "Yes son, and they walked everywhere they went!"

Let us pray:

Lord, day-to-day living can be so hard sometimes. We thank you for our friends and family who add laughter and joy to our lives.

We ask today, that you bring genuine laughter to the hearts of all our loved ones as they go about their daily duties.

May we be grateful for the opportunity to come to school, to work hard while we are here, and then take time this weekend to relax with our loved ones and share some laughter together. Thank you for the gift of today and for all the blessings in our lives.

In the name of Jesus, we pray, in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit. AMEN
